Dear Nora: Month One

Dear Nora-
Wow, you're already a month old... what a fast month this has been. Just like everything in your short existence, time has been flying by at warp speed. My pregnancy with you did not seem to last nine months -more like nine minutes and these past days and weeks have continued to go by at warp speed and are a complete blur. The fact that this newsletter is getting out just a few weeks late is amazing since I literally have no idea where the time goes.

Nora, you are a great, sweet baby. I hope that continues as I constantly am holding my breath waiting for the other shoe to drop. I've been told (and read about) the difficult and crazy times of having a newborn and toddler as well as the difficulty of transitioning from one to two... and somehow I seem to have lucked out both times I've had a newborn. Your brother was an easy baby and you are as well (although last night was a doozy of a night and you were not happy -or easy). You've got a sweet temperament and put up with a lot including your brother and his out pouring of love. You tolerate him kissing and poking you, his aggressive pushing on the swing and the weight of his head on your body when he tries to "snuggle" you.

It has been amazing to watch you two and some of the sweetest moments are when you'll be lying down next to each other looking at each other. You'll just watch him fascinated and Callan just loves you to bits. My heart swells each time thinking about the connections you've already made with each other and I hope your friendship continues to grow. Even though you won't always be best friends, I hope you'll always be there for each other.

In other news, you are a GIANT baby. Your dad and I make adorable (in my biased opinion), but giant babies. You were born completely normal (7 pounds, 8 ounces, 19 inches long), but you've grown (literally) in leaps in bounds. On Friday you had your one month well baby visit and at 5 weeks old you are now 12 pounds, 14 ounces (seriously, that's almost 13 pounds) and 23.25 inches long! You've gained 5 pounds and grown 4.25 inches. That's ridiculous. And in comparison, Callan was 24 inches, but only 10 pounds, 14 ounces so you are 2 full pounds heavier than he was (and I thought he was big!). You are still in size one diapers and firmly in 3 month clothes... I'm pretty sure we'll be busting out the 6 month clothes soon! So much for my idea of having a cute petite baby girl. But don't worry, we still love you and find you completely adorable in your chunky pork chop/meatball way.

Happy one (+) month baby girl.

Love,
Mama

P.S. Having a girl is going to be fun... I mean, look how cute the clothes and accessories are!

Already a week

Wow, time has flown by. I really meant to post a birth announcement on here, but you know how things go (and my track record for posting in a timely manner is pretty poor)... but, I thought I'd give a quick update on how things went and how they've gone this past week.

I decided last Tuesday to go ahead with the scheduled induction and was given a 5:30 am call time for Wednesday, April 27th. So after putting Callan to bed and telling him when he woke up the next morning I would be gone to go get his baby sister, we went off to bed (after doing things like setting up the bassinet, packing a bag, etc. Nothing like waiting until the last minute). Huge and I got up and headed to the hospital before everyone was up, but it seems like many other people had headed there the night before as well and lots of babies were being born. After waiting for 2 hours, we were told we'd have to come back later that day once things quieted down. I guess having a non-emergency induction really bumps you to the end of the line! So off we went to grab some food and run some errands before baby #2 arrived. We finally got the call that afternoon and headed back to the hospital around 2. By 2:30 I was checked in, hooked up and ready to go. And then that's when the waiting happened... Getting induced is B-O-R-I-N-G! Huge took lots of naps and I caught up on facebook and emails. After a few hours of pitocin, I got an epidural as my doctor figured I'd progress pretty quickly after I got my bag of water broken. It was definitely a little odd to get the epidural before I needed it, but I wasn't going to chance not getting one in time. Unfortunately, that may have slowed down my labor a little bit. I was having pretty regular contractions before that and then once I had the epidural, they started to space out or become uneven. Speaking of uneven, I had absolutely no feeling in my right leg (and found out later that I had lots of it on my left side!). Anyway, after the contractions picked up and I got my epidural fixed we just waited until I was ready to push. At around 1:15 am, it was time and after a few minutes of pushing Nora Kensie was born -all 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 19 inches of her.

And the first immediate thing we all said was, wow, she looks like Callan! Poor baby girl already has fallen into her big brother's shadow.
But I mean seriously, this is Nora:

And this is Callan. Clearly a strong family resemblance.

Callan came on Thursday to see her (and me) and the first thing he wanted to do was hold Nora and give her a big kiss. He's been unbelievably sweet to her. Of course, he was just as excited about the fries from the cafeteria that he got to eat at 10 am!

Unfortunately, Nora's stay at Prentice (Northwestern) wasn't as smooth as I'd have liked. She was fine during the day, but during that first night the nurses detected some breathing issues. They were finding that her oxygen levels were dropping and that she was having problems breathing. We had noticed that she was kind of wheezy, but were told that it was pretty common for babies that don't spend a lot of time in the birth canal to have excess amniotic fluid that isn't squeezed out, but it should clear on its own. Unfortunately after having a couple of desaturation episodes, she was admitted into the NICU for observation. As hard as it was to have her down there, I'm glad she was able to get the extra monitoring and care (the NICU nurses are fantastic. The post-partum nurses are too, but I just loved our NICU ones). After a few days (and an extra day at the hospital), it was determined that it is feeding related, so we just need to take extra care to watch her when she's eating and immediately after -make sure she burps properly and doesn't have too much reflux. It isn't the end of the world, but it makes those middle of the night feedings that much harder since we can't just lay her back down after she eats (thankfully she's a quick eater!) and we need to stay up with her for another 30-60 minutes after.

Other than that, things have been pretty smooth sailing. We are doing great. Physically I feel so much better than I remember the first time around (and I thought I had a really easy recovery then). Nursing has also been so much easier than last time and since we're not starving the baby she's been really content. My milk came in around day 2 (?) and Miss Nora has been a little piggy. She got discharged from NICU on Sunday and we had a pediatrician appointment on Monday and she had already surpassed her birth weight! With Callan it had taken him a couple weeks, but Nora was able to do it in just a couple of days.

I don't know if it's because we've already gone through this or if our expectations were lowered substantially, but (knock on wood) it really hasn't been too bad so far. I have also been really lucky to have Huge not travel for awhile. Huge's mom was also in town and she cleaned the house, organized and cooked and of course, Adelia has been an enormous help. I think it's helped Callan's transition as his routine stayed mostly in tact and he still gets that one-on-one time with her. Of course, it also helps that Callan pretty much loves on Nora all the time. He's already trying to teach her to high five, likes to rock and push her on the swing and of course always wants to hold her.

The sight of these two just melts my heart -there's just too much cuteness. I can't wait to watch them grow up together.

Before I forget...

Today Callan turned 15 weeks old and  every day seems to bring something new. Giving birth seems like a lifetime ago and being pregnant seems even further away. I figure I needed to do a brain dump of things, before I forget about pregnancy and the first few weeks. Things that in and of themselves aren't super memorable, but will be a good point of reference for the next time...

1. Going back to work hasn't been as hard as everyone claimed it to be. Although I enjoy my job, it's not my life and it makes me appreciate the time I have with Callan even more. But let's be honest, if I could quit, I would -if only I wasn't the breadwinner! haha. I need to start playing the lottery.
2. Breastfeeding was hard. Getting Callan to latch properly was the hardest and most painful thing I experienced. Yes, that even includes giving birth (but to be fair, I had a pretty easy birth experience). The second most painful thing also relates to the bewbs and that is the pain of engorgement. No one tells you what that's going to feel like and lucky me, I got to experience it twice. Once when my milk came in and then when I stopped pumping and started nursing again. I feel fortunate that I have a fantastic supply, but that blessing comes with it's own set of curses. Looking back I kind of felt like I gave up too quickly and I wish I had stuck it out a little bit longer because I wonder if some of the problems we face would have worked themselves out sooner. In the end I'm glad I gave it another try since nursing has been great, although sometimes I'm not sure it's necessarily all it's cracked up to be. People claim that it's this blissful, bonding experience between mother and child and I'm just not getting it. I do love nursing and fought hard to do it and will be sad to (eventually) stop, but in certain situations I think how much easier it would be to feed him a bottle. This brings me to my next point...
3. Bottle feeding is hard too! But in different ways than breastfeeding. Callan has shown his stubborn streak and caused a bit of anxiety over his lack of affection for the bottle. I wrote about the standoff with the bottle and now nearly a month later, it's still touch and go. We've gone from hysterical crying when attempting to give the bottle to something more akin to playful refusal. Adelia has had some success, but Callan will often go days only drinking a few ounces while I'm at work. Thankfully he's still happy and playful, but it does make the nights a little bit longer because he's waking up to eat rather than sleeping through the night.
4. Breastfeeding is a miracle weight loss tool. I have lost nearly all of the 53 pounds I gained while pregnant (I'm within 15 lbs) and after 3 months being able to fit into almost all of my clothes is nothing short of miraculous. We'll see how long it takes me to take off the last 15 lbs as I've read that sometimes it sticks around until people stop breastfeeding, but to be honest I think it's going to take me stopping my 3 cookies a day habit before I get back to pre-preg weight.
5. While breastfeeding may be a miracle weight loss tool, it is not the birth control people may think it is -No wonder there are so many Irish twins out there! I was hoping to go another year without the monthly "visitor", but after 12 weeks, it came back (boo). Even though I am exclusively breastfeeding, I guess it's common for the visitor to return after the baby starts sleeping through the night. As disappointing as this has been, it seems like a pretty small trade off to have you sleep through the night.
6.  Speaking of which, Callan is a champion sleeper. The fact that he regularly sleeps through the night and sometimes need to be woken up in the morning is amazing to me. It makes me wonder what's going to happen in the teenage years and whether he'll ever see daylight, but considering his dad likes sleeping in, this shouldn't be too shocking.
7. I sometimes think about my miscarriage from last year and what that baby would have been like and at time think about how old he/she would have been. But as sad as I am about that, I can't imagine not having Callan... he clearly is the baby that was meant for us.
8. Callan may have already ruined his sibling's lives. I can't imagine the next baby being as easy as Callan and figure we will pay for it by having either a terrible next baby or a terrible toddler...
9. I also feel bad for any future siblings because I can't imagine the outpouring of love and affection for them will be any match to what Callan has received. I think there's always a special place in everyone's hearts for the first and Callan is definitely the child/grandchild that everyone had been waiting for.
10. I've run out of things, but I wanted to end on a nice round number. Oh, maybe I'll talk about pregnancy and a reminder that next time I really shouldn't gain 50 lbs!

Wow, that turned out to be much longer than I expected. I guess if you've made it this far you deserve a picture. This is from Adelia yesterday of Callan and Luke. They are going to be best friends and either a pair of heartbreakers or trouble makers... I'm still undecided.

My chunky monkey

Today was Callan's one month doctor appointment and she confirmed what I already knew... we are growing a chunky monkey! Callan was 8 pounds 2 ounces and 21 inches long at birth. He dropped down to 7 pounds 12 ounces when we were discharged from the hospital and at his one week appointment he was 7 pounds 14 ounces, which put him in the 40th percentile. Today (3 weeks later) he is now 10 pounds 14 ounces! Essentially almost 11 pounds -he's gained 3 pounds in three weeks and is now in the 75th percentile. The only thing preventing him from being the fattest baby around is that he is tall -he is now 24 inches and off the height chart. Callan is now 2 feet tall! Ridiculous. And oddly enough, his head, which was one of my biggest worries during pregnancy is 15 inches and solidly in the 50th percentile.

In other news, he got his second Hepatitis B shot, which made him a little angry, but he seems ok now. Overall, it was a great appointment and I'm glad Callan is doing well. His next appointment is at the end of June and he'll get more shots -Boo :(

Dear Callan...

Dear Callan-
I hope to write you a monthly letter (for at least for the first year) and this is the first. Today (well, Sunday) you turned one month old. I can't even believe it, the time has gone by so quickly and I'm sure it's going to just continue that way. Before I know it I'll be packing you up to go off to college -EEK!

Before I get ahead of myself, I need to remember how little and precious you are now. Even in the last few weeks you're already starting to look older and less like a newborn and more like an infant -I guess it helps that you're putting on weight and have already grown longer -the cute newborn clothes we had for you no longer fit and some of the 0-3 month onesies are a struggle to snap as you seem to be growing longer every day and things that fit yesterday don't today. I wonder how tall you're going to be. Neither your dad nor I are short, although we are not extraordinarily tall either. That's the crazy thing, I look at you constantly and wonder about your future... Things like how tall you're going to be, or what you're going to look like when you're older, what interests/hobbies you're going to pick up, even who your best friend will be in school. The crazy thing about having you is knowing the endless possibilities that are available for you and wondering what your future holds. It's like a chose your own adventure book, but the options haven't been written yet. And I hope you remember that... that all things are possible (well, maybe not a Ferrari for your 18th birthday), and that your hopes and dreams are my hopes and dreams for you. I wonder about the type of person you will become and I hope that your dad and I are able to mold you and direct you to become that person. I hope that we are the parents that you deserve and that you always remember how much we love you.

This month has been a whirlwind, with a constant stream of visitors -first your nana and papa from Boston and then your grandma and grandpa from Montreal and all your friends here in Chicago. You are definitely well loved and people are excited to meet you. I know I was. I was so anxious and excited to meet you and when you finally arrived on April 22nd, I wasn't nervous at all because I knew you were my baby and that I was your mom and that we were going to be a good fit. You are my first born, my first son, my first child and I knew that you would change my life forever and I was so, so excited and very ready. You are my baby pies and always will be -even when you're 13 and don't want to be seen in public with me, or when you're 18 and off in college... or even when you're 30 and off and married, you will always be my baby pies because you are what made me a mom and turned your dad and I from a couple into a family.

Happy one month birthday baby pies. I love you and can't wait to see what's in store for us in the months ahead.

Love,
Mama

This was the first picture taken of you (by dad):

And our first family picture. Look how much you've changed in a month!

Week 3

Callan turned 3 weeks old -time is flying. Huge's parents are visiting from Montreal so it's been great having them help around the house and they are loving the time with Callan even though it's cutting into my snuggle time with him. We didn't do much this week since the grandparents are visiting, but the weather was unseasonably warm (in the 80's) so we were able to get in a few walks while the little guy was sleeping. We're still trying to figure out a schedule, but for now he seems to be eating about 2 to 2.5 ounces every 2ish hours during the day (still bottle feeding breastmilk) and at night we've been able to stretch out his sleeps and he usually gets in one good 3-4 hour stretch (a few times he's even done 5 hours!), but nothing consistent. He's averaging 21-25 ounces a day, so he's pretty much right on track, but sometimes it's hard to tell if he's fussing because he's still hungry or he wants to suck. He's been getting fussy in the evenings, which we thought was due to him wanting to eat a bit more frequently before bed, but other times it seems to be an overload of gas... hopefully we can rectify this so he's more comfortable and sleeps a bit better. He's still sleeping in the bassinet in our room, but I'm hoping to start transitioning him to the crib soon. I think once the grandparents leave this week we'll be able to start transitioning him into a better routine both for naps during the day as well as sleeping in the crib.

Callan also had his first bath this week and he loved it. He was content the entire time he was in the water and didn't fuss at all. We will see what happens the next time -hopefully he'll enjoy bath time. Otherwise, nothing else new to report. We had a play date with Michael (Lauren and Ted's baby) and the babies both slept almost the entire time. We took Callan in the Moby to their house and took Callan in his first cab. He was all snuggly in the Moby so he was perfect in the cab both there and back. We're looking forward to lots of summer play dates before I have to go back to work.

I can't believe how big Callan looks now and how much he's changed in the last few weeks. He definitely is taller and bigger than before. Sadly he's outgrown his newborn clothes! We put him in a few of the outfits and his legs and feet are squished and one outfit looks like shorts on him! *sigh*, I'm sure this won't be the last time I say how fast he's changing so I'm just going to enjoy him being an infant for now (even when he's screaming his head off!) and cherish the quiet moments with him... My two guys are delicious :)

Week 2

Hm... I'm going to have to come up with better titles for these entries, but until then, you're going to be stuck with my generic titles!
So Callan is now 2 weeks old. It's crazy to think how fast this has gone by, but at the same time labor and delivery 2 weeks ago seems like it was forever and a day ago.

Nana and Papa left last Saturday to go back home to Boston. It was a tearful good bye (well, for nana at least, Callan didn't seem too distressed), but we will see them again soon when we go out to visit in June. We also had a lactation consultant come out to see if we could get Callan to latch better and eat a bit more comfortably (for me). Unfortunately for me Callan seems to have a veracious appetite and a super strong suck, but not a good latch. We had a great appointment and we were all optimistic about things improving. Unfortunately, after a few days of progress things seemed to deteriorate and I wasn't able to take it anymore. Callan was getting more and more frustrated during nursing and my poor nips were being torn up. The pain and stress of nursing was starting to take it's toll and I decided we had to change the situation. Fortunately I don't have a supply problem so Callan can still get breast milk, but we've decided for the time being while I heal and try to recover that he will be getting it from a bottle rather than directly from the source. I'm trying not to beat myself up over this, but a bit of mother's guilt has already kicked in and at times I wonder if I gave up too easily. I say that we will try it again and maybe once he's a bit older and his mouth is a little bigger, it might be easier. I try to justify it by thinking that he was going to eventually get a bottle anyway as I will be returning to work after my leave is over and he's still getting breast milk, but I still wonder if I should have just tried to work through all the issues. The nice part of giving a bottle is that Huge is able to do some of the feedings and I think he's enjoying that time with Callan.

We had another doctor's appointment this week and Callan has regained the weight he lost and is now just above his birth weight (8 lbs 5 oz). I attribute the gain to the bottle feeding as he seems much happier and more content after meals than he did before. Now the only problem is that I think he wants to eat all the time! He likes to suck on his hands and pacifier and I worry that we give him a bottle instead of just letting him suck to soothe himself. We are still working out the kinks and trying to read the cues, but it's still a learning process for both of us. The past few days Callan has wanted to be snuggled almost continuously, which is fun, but does not make for a very productive day!

Callan also had his first dinner out this week. Huge and I took him with us when we went out to dinner at the Xmarx pop up. He was totally well behaved and slept like a champ throughout dinner. The nice thing about Callan having a bottle is that we can time his feedings and sleep times a bit easier than when he was nursing. We also took him out to lunch, but that didn't work out quite as well as dinner did since he wanted to be held the whole time.

Lastly, our friends Shelby and Mike had their baby boy, Luke, and we can't wait to meet him. Additionally, our good friends Lauren and Ted welcomed the arrival of their son Michael on Monday and we can not be happier for them. So lots of little boys being born and I'm looking forward to watching them all grow up together.

Week 1

Wow, a week has already passed and of course I'm late with the update. It has been an eventful week and Callan has had lots of visitors.

In the hospital on Saturday, Callan's first visitors were the Perman's. Unfortunately due to hospital regulations non sibling children under 12 can not visit, so Ellis wasn't able to meet his new friend. Later that afternoon, Akiko and Jeff came to visit bringing Callan a beautiful hand knit blanket made by Akiko. We were really excited that Callan arrived on time so Akiko could meet him before she left for Hong Kong for 6 months! So much is going to change in that time and we are really going to miss her.

Speaking of meeting before leaving, Huge's coworker, Allison was moving to DC in a few days after Callan's birth, but thankfully she also was able to come meet the little guy. Other visitors on Saturday afternoon included Lamis, Sarah and Miranda. Callan had quite the entourage of lady visitors! Things settled down for a bit before Lauren and Ted came for a visit. All and all it was a busy Saturday!

Wednesday was Callan's first pediatric appointment. We really like his pediatrician and although we were a little late arriving, we all survived the trip. Callan did really well in the car and only fussed a bit at the doctor's. He isn't above birth weight and is a bit more jaundiced than when he left the hospital so we will go back on Tuesday for a weight check and to see how the jaundice is doing.

The rest of the week was fairly uneventful. Nana and Papa were visiting from Boston, so Callan got to spend a lot of quality time with them. Nana loves holding him and can talk and read to him for hours.

Otherwise, things are going well. We are trying to get into a routine and rhythm with Callan and only a few tears have been shed this week (by me). We have had some feeding issues and hearing a baby scream bloody murder really pulls on your heartstrings and makes you feel like you are failing them as a parent. Of course, it's much more built up in your head and the baby doesn't know any better, but it doesn't make those moments any easier. We are really trying to exclusively breast feed, but have supplemented twice in order to satiate and soothe Callan. We are holding off on introducing a bottle until we get the latch/feeding issues down, but in the wee hours of the morning or after a particularly difficult feeding, the bottle is looking more and more appealing. I know that this will pass and we are both just getting the hang of it, but it is very demanding and emotionally exhausting. Hopefully as time goes on we get better and better and this problem will just be a distant memory.

It's been a busy first week for Callan and I'm sure the fun is just getting started.

Callan's arrival

I figured I should write Callan's (pronounced Cal-in, not Kay-lyn) birth story before I totally forgot and before too much time had passed.

For the past few weeks I had been having strong Braxton Hicks, but no real painful contractions or anything that would be real measurable. The past few pre-natal appointments I had been dilated and somewhat effaced with a little bit of progress each week. But without real contractions I figured I was going to go past my due date and would probably have to be induced. Baby G though had other plans.

Friday morning, April 22, 2011:
I went to bed on Thursday feeling about the same as usual. At 2 am I woke up with pretty painful cramps/contractions, but they weren't very long and I was able to fall back asleep in between. By around 5 am, I realized that this could be it -the contractions were getting stronger and more noticeable. Excited Huge and I started thinking that this was the day baby would arrive. We started timing the contractions and although they were measurable, they were only lasting about 30 seconds, varied in intensity and about 7-8 minutes apart. Realizing that labor was not going to start in the next hour we decided to go about our day as usual. Thankfully Friday was a holiday for me, so I had no plans, but around 7 am, Huge left for a photo shoot and then to go help a friend pack up for a move cross-country. By 10 am the contractions were picking up and hit the magic 1 minute length, 5 minutes apart for at least 1 hour. Of course being kind of stubborn and thinking that I would be able to labor as much as possible at home, I dragged my feet about doing anything. I emailed/texted Huge while he was out and a friend (hi Jess!) at work about my progress. Of course, they two of them were kind of freaking out and trying to take this more seriously since I had already been 3 cm dilated on Tuesday. Finally after taking a shower I called the doctor at 11 am and she told me to eat something, relax and then head to the hospital in about an hour. Huge made it home and made me lunch while I got our bags ready and got myself ready. Finally around noon we made our way to the hospital in the slowest cab in Chicago.

At 12:30 pm we arrived at the hospital with good contractions and dilated to 4 cm -so unfortunately that meant some progress had been made at home, but not nearly as much as I had hoped. The good news was that meant I was staying and that baby was going to arrive soon. We walked around the hospital and had the contractions measured until around 2:30 when the contractions were coming on much, much stronger and much, much faster. The worst of it was the shooting pain in my back that did not ease up with breathing, walking or massage. I assumed that meant that I must be doing a great job laboring, but when I got checked I had only progressed 1 measly centimeter! I had hoped to labor as much as possible au natural, but since we did nothing to actually prepare to labor that way (i.e. take a class of any sort) we were totally unprepared to cope with the amount of pain I was feeling and I decided that I would need an epidural. I had said that I wanted to make it to at least 4 cm before getting an epi since some theorize that sometimes epidurals slow down labor and would lead to unnecessary medical intervention and I wanted to try to avoid that as much as possible. Of course, that decision was made before I felt real contractions! I finally received an epidural at 3:15 pm and although it was a little painful -that numbing medicine and needle poke is a bit more uncomfortable then they let on - it was totally worth it. At 3:30 pm they broke my water in the hopes of speeding up my labor and I was dilated 6 cm, -1 station and 90% effaced so I was confident that I was in the homestretch. With the epidural in place I was able to rest and relax through the contractions however, I think labor did slow down a bit. At 5:30 pm I had only progressed another cm, but I was at 0 station and fully effaced. It was decided to start a slow pitocin drip to try to get the contractions a little stronger and a little closer together. Finally a bit before 8 pm I was fully dilated, effaced and ready to push!

I started pushing and at 8:19 pm (yes, your math is correct, it was 20 minutes of pushing), Callan Joseph Galdones was born. He was 8 lbs 2 oz and 21 inches long. This part was a bit surreal and something out of a bad slasher flick -Callan's limbs flailed a bit while coming out and some of the amniotic fluid few towards me (yes, it hit me) and then when Huge went to cut the umbilical cord there was some blood still pulsing that sprayed the doctor!

When my bag of water was broken they noticed that there was muconian in it (i.e. the baby had pooped) so a team of pediatricians were there to take Callan and check him out immediately after birth and to suction out his lungs to get out all the gunk. Thankfully when he was born he was already whimpering/crying so we knew things were ok -his Agpar scores were good and they were able to suction most of the fluid junk. After a check out by the pediatric team Callan came to do a little kangaroo care, and even though he cried the whole time, I knew I was in love.

Week 40-41: The end (and beginning)

Guess I don't have a pregnancy update for week 40-41 because I am no longer pregnant!

Callan Joseph Galdones made his entrance into the world on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 8:19 pm. He was a healthy 8 pounds, 2 ounces and 21 inches long.
We are all in love.

So no more pregnancy updates, but I'm sure there will be lots more pictures of this little guy.
